Dear readers,
Please find the latest policy items and updates from CIB members below.
The report of the CIB meeting (19-20 May, Istanbul) has now been finalized and can be read here. The report contains notes of all sessions, as well as trends distilled and points of follow up that have been agreed on. Among the main trends identified are: a decrease and change in priority countries for development cooperation; the rise of philanthropic and the private sector as alternative sources of funding; the emergence of a variety of themes like migration and root causes of conflict; and an increasing number of international networks and meetings. Points of follow-up are, among others: the commitment of CIB members to involve each other in at least one of their programmes; online exchange making use of our new online community; active and coordinated participation in the October 2016 UCLG World Congress; and to comment on and contribute to UCLG’s Roadmap to Localize the SDGs and the Toolkit on Localizing the SDGs. Please view the report for more details on the aforementioned points. We would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions to the meeting.
Kind regards,
CIB Working Group secretariat
