It is with our greatest pleasure that we would like to announce that the CIB annual meeting for 2024 will be taking place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of May, in Barcelona. We want to express our gratitude to Diputació de Barcelona for graciously hosting the CIB family gathering this year in their beautiful city, Barcelona.
As a result of our previous exchanges together with the membership - the CIB annual meeting 2023 in Marrakesh, the UCLG annual retreat and our online CIB quarterly meetings - we have been able to develop a first draft program (see attachments). The programme consists the themes of common interests and importance we identified through these consultations. Similar to previous editions of the CIB annual meeting and in respect to our long lasting tradition, there will be plenty of room to exchange information and knowledge sharing as well as mutual learning, amongst others during the much appreciated dedicated thematic workshops and the ‘Tour de Table’. The coming weeks we will ask and identify actors to play an active role in the further development of the programme through prepraratory online exchanges.
Furthermore, through this article, we would like to be sharing the first important logistical information for your participation and travel.

Visa requirements for Spain
US & UK Citizens
American and British citizens traveling to Spain for less than 90 days do not need a visa. However, they will need a valid passport for at least six months beyond their stay. Immigration officers may also ask citizens to show enough funds for their stay and a return airline ticket.
Australian Citizens
Australian citizens visiting Spain for less than 90 days do not require a visa. Passports need to have at least six-month validity from the planned date of return.
EU, EEA and Swiss Citizens
As citizens of the European Union and European Economic Area, you will not need a visa to enter the country.
Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa to enter Spain
The following countries do not require a visa for visits lasting less than 90 days, but require a valid passport to enter Spain. Andorra, Antigua and Bermuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapour, Taiwan, Uruguay and Venezuela.
