EP-NUFFIC, the Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher education, has launched a new application round for fellowships for training courses in the Netherlands. The deadline for registration is the 20th of October 2015.

EP-NUFFIC provides fellowships to scholars from 51 countries worldwide. The aim of the fellowships is to promote capacity building within organizations in eligible countries via training and education for professionals. The fellowships are initiated and fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from their development cooperation budget.

With the NUFFIC fellowships is it possible to enrol and participate in the different courses offered by The Hague Academy for Local Governance (THALG), amongst others.  Currently, the following three THALG courses are open for application for NUFFIC scholarships:

Integrity and Anti-corruption (7 – 18 March, 2016)
This training programme aims to increase understanding of the international anti-corruption framework and related integrity policies. The role of various actors and international instruments in eliminating corruption and promoting the rule of law will be examined, and corruption’s relation to international development and human security will be discussed.

Multilevel Water Governance (4 – 15 April, 2016)
This course addresses the key challenges for integrated, multilevel water governance. Next to discussing theoretical concepts and practical case studies, you will analyse your own country context by applying governance assessment tools.

Citizen Participation and Inclusive Governance (23 May – 3 June, 2016)
This course discusses basic principles of good governance, accountability, and civil participation. We will explore possibilities to engage citizens in the policy and decision making process and discuss i.e. the participation ladder, the accountability chain, and do’s and don’ts in the participation processes.

The deadline for application for fellowships is the 20th of October 2015. The registration for various THALG courses opened on the 1st of September 2015. More information on the application procedure can be found here:  http://thehagueacademy.com/blog/2015/05/nuffic-fellowships/
