ICLD has developed a digital education training to give you an “Introduction to Agenda 2030.”This training aims to give you an introduction to Agenda 2030, a global agenda for addressing the world’s most pressing challenges and driving change towards a sustainable society. The Global Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda offer an unprecedented opportunity for individuals and local and regional governments (LRGs) to contribute to global sustainability.

Course Introduction:

With the majority of the world population living in urban environments today, cities have become the engines of (economic) development and innovation. At the same time, cities have been forced to confront many of the world’s most pressing challenges: poverty and inequality, migration, pollution, natural disasters, and other consequences of climate change.

What strategies and tools can local authorities apply to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth? How do you create an environment that promotes investment and entrepreneurship? This four-week online course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to assess your local economic environment and – in an inclusive manner – design an effective local economic development (LED) strategy together with relevant stakeholders.

Local public services such as health care, waste management, water supply, and social security have a huge impact on our daily lives. Unfortunately, in many countries the poor often lack access to these important services.

From 9 to 20 April 2018, The Hague Academy for Local Governance organizes its ‘Integrity & Anti-corruption’ training in The Hague. This course is intended for consultants and professionals working for; government, international organisations or NGOs and who are involved in anti-corruption, transparency and accountability processes in relation to development and governance.
