March 02, 2021     cib

Following the session on Voluntary Subnational Reviews at the UCLG Retreat on 18 February, which served as a valuable first encounter, UCLG and CIB are organizing the first-ever VSR workshop on 12 March, from 13:30-16:30 CET. The workshop will count on the participation of both local government associations’ representatives and field experts of countries that are engaged in the preparation of VSRs or local government reports to contribute to the Voluntary National Reviews in 2021 in 8 pilot countries, as well as other partners. The pilot countries are: Cape Verde, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Tunisia and Zimbabwe. Pakistan is also interested in preparing a VSR for 2022. Other local governments associations also expressed their interest to follow-up (VVSG-Flanders, FEMP-Spain.

The workshop aims to foster a fruitful exchange of knowledge, ideas, best practices and questions that will hopefully lead to enriching the conceptualization and putting into practice the VSR work plan in the different countries. Stay tuned - we will definetely make sure to share experiences and lessons learned along the way!
