As it is traditionally the case, UCLG invites all of its members and partners to Barcelona for a UCLG retreat, to further concretize the UCLG work plan and align engagements. This years retreat takes place in 'Palo Alto', between 20-24 February 2023.
The Focus
Under the theme Building Bridges: From vision to collective action and over the course of a week, efforts will be concentrated on defining actions that will bring to life the commitments made in UCLG's Pact for the Future. The Retreat will be the space to identify transversal priorities throughout the network.
The Format
This year's edition is conceived for participation in person. In order to ensure involvement of special guests, online participation will be ensured for specific plenary segments.
Key moments
- Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning will be devoted to UCLG Network Labs that will focus on “Deconstructing the Pact for the Future”. The participation of Sections’ Secretariats and Consultation Mechanisms is expected here.
- Wednesday will be the Global Taskforce Day, with the participation of the global municipal movement ecosystem.
- Thursday will be devoted to our 2023 Forecast and relation with media on the urban agenda. All partners are welcome.
- Friday will be the Presidency Day.
In this perspective, participation of political representatives will be geared towards the end of the week (Thursday 23-Friday 24 February). Participation of partners would be mostly expected around Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February.
Registration and logistical information
You can already register to the Retreat by filling in the participation form. Since the event will be mostly in-person, UCLG would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance by 15 February, so that the team of the World Secretariat can proceed to the necessary arrangements.
