As the pressure increases on local authorities to implement Covid-19 measures, and the pandemic having dominated the agenda of the international community, the most vulnerable who are affected the most need not be forgotten. The situation regarding Syrian refugees and Roma citizens is still present, and it has in many ways been exacerbated, as a cause of the current pandemic.

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for partnerships for sustainable cities. The objective is to promote integrated urban development through partnerships between local authorities in the EU Member States and the partner countries. The submission deadline is 27 March 2020, 12:00 (Brussels time).
Local councillors from across Pakistan came together for a first two-day workshop at the beginning of April. Top of the agenda was setting the priority activities for a new programme to support local councils associations in more effectively representing their members and helping them to deliver better services for their communities.
